Orchard Street, Tamworth
The old Tamworth Borough Council building has three excellent examples of low pressure sodium lights. These were added to the "Hidden in Plain Sight" page as it took a while to notice them. The installations consist of two Philips MI36s and one Philips Nightguard NGX018.
As the name suggests, the Philips NGX018 is an 18W SOX bulkhead. In fact it is the first 18W SOX fixture I have seen in person!
The two MI36s are located on the opposite side of the wall, lighting a car park on the outside. This first example is not looking too healthy. That's a dead SOX lamp if I've ever seen one, it's completely black!
The second MI36 is positioned just adjacent to the first example. The building and large unit above has (mostly) sheltered it from the rain, meaning there isn't much lichen growth on the GRP canopy.
