Abacus Orion 2 Lantern Installations

The Orion 2 by Abacus could support lamps up to 400W SON or 450W MH. Designed for lighting large areas, they were quite common around shopping centres and supermarkets. It's intended mountain height was 5m-8m, but they could sometimes be sighted on taller columns; the high-performance reflector and polycarbonate bowl led to an even light-distribution.

Tamworth

The Calico Business Park (just-off Sandy Way) is lit by three Orion 2 lanterns.

These used to run SON, but have been retrofitted to LED using cob lamps.
