BTH Amber Junior Lantern Installations
Also known as the AEI Amber Junior, the BTH Amber Junior was fairly rare throughout the UK during the 1950s-1970s. From what I could find, this lantern gradually evolved into the more-modern Junior Amberline (Beta 8) and Beta 5 lanterns by Thorn. The lantern was made for 60W SO lamps, but later, many were adapted to run 35W SOX.
Burntwood
Ogley Hay Road supports a single 1960s BTH Amber Junior lantern. This lantern would have ran SO 60W originally, but now runs 26W SOX-E.
The cast-iron bracket does appear corroded, but still holds up well. Also notable is a replica bowl made of what looks to be vacuum-formed polycarbonate. This could be due to clouding or damage sustained to the original bowl.
From underneath, it's clear that the 26W lamp is slightly angled.
The lantern has been rewired in recent years, but is still operational.
