BTH Rural Enclosed Lantern Installations
British Thomson-Houston's Urban Enclosed lantern was exceptionally rare. They could run 100W, 150W, or 250W tungsten, or 80W-125W mercury vapour lamps. They were too small to have ever housed a gear, and the lantern at it's widest is only 11 inches in diameter. They were available with an internal-refractor and clear-glass-bowl, or a glass-refractor-bowl.
Comberford Road has a private installation: a BTH Rural Enclosed with a clear-glass bowl.
Fitted is a regular 9W LED GLS lamp. The lantern is also missing it's original refractor. There's a chance this installation may have been rescued from this exact road some-number of decades ago.
