Candela Light Aston Midi Lantern Installations
Candela Light Aston Midis are a variant of the Aston lantern. They are the second largest in the series, and can be mounted post-top, or top-entry. A range of lamp-types are available including: 50W-250W SON-T, ceramic metal halide or Metal halide, up to 140W Cosmopolis, CFL or an LED array.
Birmingham
Thorpe Street is lined with LED Candela Aston Midis. These are new installations, with the lanterns being no more than two years old at the time of photographing (31/12/2024).

I also photographed the next lantern on the left from the same distance, providing a nice side-profile.
The Priory Square, Birmingham is home to tens of these lanterns. They probably would have been SON originally but were retrofitted using LED cob lamps.

Following the pathway through to The Square itself, more Candela Aston Midis can be sighted on triple-arm brackets. There are seven columns total in the centre of The Square.
Some decorative wall-brackets with two arms are situated around The Square, each with two Candela Aston Midi lanterns on them. Take a closer look at the close-up below and you may see the Candela logo on the gear-tray to the right.
