GEC Z5699U Lantern Installations
The GEC Z5699U is an obscure post-top lantern. Designed for use with 80W MBF/U or 125W MBF/U lamps, today it is obsolete, and nearly all of them have been replaced with more favourable lanterns. The Z5699U is a gear-in-head version of the GEC Z5710 series of lanterns.

This (previously) unknown post top is a privately owned installation. The most similar lantern I could find is the Z5699U. It shares the same mounting spigot, but the top canopy seems to be thinner.

It is not out of the question that this is actually a modified Z5699U, given that it's privately owned and I could not find a match after looking through the GEC (and many other company) catalogues. The bowl houses a sizable crack forming up it.

From this angle, putty sealant can be sighted surrounding the base of the bowl. This is confirmation that the lantern has been modified in some way, with a custom made replacement bowl being present. The lantern's top canopy appears slightly irregular in shape, suggesting that it too is custom.
