GEC Z8128 "Difractor" Lantern Installations

Surprisingly, despite their small size, the GEC Z8128 was originally designed for main road lighting. Situated inside is a vertical: 300W-500W GLS lamp, 125W-400W MA/V / MB/V lamp, or a 125W-400W MBF lamp. These lanterns were too small for a gear, so the gear would be located in the column's base.

Burton-upon-Trent

This iconic Difractor lantern was spotted just-off Derby Road, believed to run an MBF/U lamp.

The lantern is in astonishing condition, not a crack on the bowl!
