MSD Lighting Hertford Lantern Installations

Mike Smith Design's Hertford was a Windsor-style post-top available for GLS, SON-T, or metal halide lamps. It was more recently sold as an LED lantern (or a retrofit kit was produced). They never really saw wide-spread use, but some installations did (and still do) exist.

Birmingham

Lower Severn Street is dotted with MSD Hertford Lanterns on 5m columns. A mix of old-style Hertfords and new-style Hertfords exist here, with the newer design being mounted on Candela columns.

The newer ones have a slimmer design, and all run LED. Notice the tiny radio nodes protruding from the canopies of each lantern.

The duo lanterns quite suit the brackets they've been fitted to!

The larger lanterns are (I believe) the older-design. Notice the columns are similar in design to the new ones, potentially indicating a replacement scheme where newer columns and lanterns were ordered.
