MSD Worcester Traditional Lantern Installations

This lantern is a variety from the Worcester range by Mike Smith Designs. The lanterns can run mercury vapour, sodium discharge or metal halide lamps, and an LED version is available. They use optic systems and drivers from Philips Lighting. Construction of this luminaire is similar to other post-tops, featuring a one-piece UV stabilized polycarbonate bowl inside a cast aluminium body.

Birmingham

Henrietta Street is lined with the traditional version of the MSD Worcester. This first example is day-burning.

These examples all run 50W-70W SON-T lamps.

The second lantern is missing it's finial, with the column itself leaning backwards.

The final lantern on the road has suffered some damage, significantly more than the previous example.

The canopy has been knocked loose, exposing the gear within.

The Tridonic ignitor is peering over the edge of the canopy. Notice as well Mike Smith's logo to the right.
