Nordex Astra 1 Lantern Installations

Nordex's Astra 1 Lantern was previously available for high-pressure sodium/metal halide lamps, but nowadays is still on the market (along with the Astra 2) as an LED lantern. The LED version features the same body, but an LED board in place of the optic. These lanterns could be mounted side-entry or post-top.

This was an unexpected find! While picking up some floodlights with another collector, I came across these Nordex Astra 1s just-off Woodyard Lane, very rare over here in the UK!

The columns were all positioned with the lanterns facing 90° from the road, lighting up each caravan plot with the odd spot-replacement lantern here-and-there.

Many of the columns had sustained damage over the site's use, some were even on the ground completely!
