Philips Decovision (Duocône Opale) Lantern Installations

Philips' Decovision lanterns were not too popular over here in the UK, and I believe were only in French catalogues. This page only documents the opal-bowled (Duocône Opale) variant. Uniquely, these fixtures could come with an angled spigot, in which case the lantern would compliment one of the stylish Philips columns that they were sold with.

Birmingham

These lanterns populate the car park of the Chinese Wing Yip Superstore in Birmingham. Their similarity to Chinese lanterns and stylistic appearance was probably the reason for their use here. This was the first time I'd seen any members of this lantern family in person. I'd imagine these lanterns run either SON or LED retrofit lamps.

The car park is also littered with triple-arm columns, which incorporate top-entry and post-top lanterns. The post-top lantern (being in the middle) has no angled spigot.
