Philips FGS224 Lantern Installations

Also known as the Philips Residium, the FGS224 was the second-smallest of the Residium series of lanterns, for 36W PL-L. There was also an XGS224 for SOX lamps, but it wasn't as common in the UK when compared to it's PL-L counterparts. The lantern could be mounted both side-entry and post-top.

Tamworth

The Lyon Drive estate is sprinkled with FGS224s. Column 1 of Lyon Drive is pictured below. The columns are a mixed-bag of 6m steels from different manufacturers.

Column 2:

The FGS224s continue all the way around Lyon Drive and along Lowes Drive.

This next FGS224 is located on Gowan Close, and has been painted with blackout paint to stop glare entering the house behind.
