Powerlite Starlux Lantern Installations

The Powerlite Starlux was an incredibly common bulkhead in the UK throughout the early 2000s. Their design was also licenced under countless other companies. Despite being integral-geared, these bulkheads would require SON-I lamps, that is, lamps with an internal ignitor. They most-commonly ran 70W SON-I, with 50W SON-I being considerably sparser.

A 70W SON-I example is apparent on the side of an underpass on Abelia, Amington.

An under-view allows us to just-barely see the elliptical SON-I lamp inside. Sadly, this installation does not work.
