Tamlite Tamcourt Lantern Installations

The Tamlite Tamcourt was fairly rare when it came to SOX lanterns in the UK, not having been used much on public roads. They could run 35W-55W SOX, or 26W-36W SOX-E lamps. They were also sold as the Philips XRC, and were similar in shape to the much larger MA lanterns by Philips, even having a similar refractor pattern on their bowl.

Ventura Retail Park, Tamworth

Some Tamlite Tamcourts are located in Ventura outside a car dealership. I am unsure if these are owned by the car dealership or council. As you can see, it has had quite the water-intake and no longer works to my knowledge, but this could be due to the columns having been abandoned. It is mounted at a height of 6m.

These lanterns were visited nearly a year later (from the above image). They are all still sitting silently on the road.

Another thing to note, they are all installed on Tamlite columns, so the lanterns are original to their columns.

Mariner, Tamworth

I discovered another one of these on Mariner, Lichfield Industrial Estate. That place is a gold mine!

Sadly, it doesn't work either and is more like a swamp than a lantern at this point. Looks like these are notorious for water intake, as all 3 I have seen have suffered that fate. If you look closely, you can see that it's full of water.
