Thorn Beta 4 Lantern Installations

The Thorn Beta 4 was an unusual top-entry lantern designed for use with 60W-200W GLS or 80W-125W MBF/U lamps. The lantern's small size meant there was no room for a gear (or really anything other than the lamp). Nowadays these are extremely rare, and only a few remain. Most of the ones that remain are privately owned.

White Lion, Long Eaton

A Thorn Beta 4 on a 5m cast-iron column exists in the White Lion's pub garden. The column houses a (slightly wonky) swan-neck bracket.

The lantern runs an LED GLS lamp, but may have ran a 100W GLS lamp originally.
