Urbis Evolo 3 Lantern Installations
These lanterns were extremely common throughout the UK, and can still be seen in abundance to-this-day. The Evolo 3 was the largest lantern in the Evolo series. They were side-entry or post-top, and could run SON, or metal halide (most commonly cosmowhite) lamps. Overall, the Evolo 3 was quite a sturdy lantern with a range of optical options, held closed by a dependable clip towards the front of the lantern.
Derby Southern Bypass
Column BL171 of the Derby Southern Bypass has an Urbis Evolo 3, a spot-replacement for a late Thorn Alpha 2000. Thank you to AgentHalogen_87 for providing the following images after a data corruption:
It looks like this Evolo 3 runs a SON lamp, probably 250W.
