Urbis Onyx 2 Lantern Installations
Urbis Onyx 2s were quite rare here in the UK. They saw far-more success in mainland Europe. That said, they can occasionally be seen here. The Onyx 2 was designed to run 50W, 70W, 100W or 150W SON. The IP66 gear compartment made the lantern extremely durable, and it was rare to see them fail. Their distinctive shape makes the easy to identify. The bowl is mad from VHR glass, with the canopy being made from diecast aluminium.

These installations are a bit-of-an icon for me, I always used to look at them when I went to the shops as a child. They run 70W SON-T. First pictured is the column at the end of the carpark.
I followed the carpark around to the end, with another column being spotted opposite.
A small staircase leads us to more Urbis Onyx 2s.
A day-burner can also be seen here, the 70W SON-T lamp glowing brightly throughout the day... A small post-top adaptor is apparent.
Another small staircase leads to a post-top Urbis Onyx 2.
