Urbis Sapphire 2 Lantern Installations

Ventura Retail Park, Tamworth

Not many Urbis Sapphire 2s exist here. I do however know of one that was knocked down by a vehicle. It likely ran 150W SON-T as it was on a motorway ramp surrounded by 150W Urbis ZX3s and Philips Trafficvisions. This is all that's left of it's column. presumably the lantern was destroyed on impact with the ground.

Coton Green, Tamworth

A sad end to one of the few remaining Sapphire 2s here... But fear not! Coton Lane is populated with Urbis Sapphire 2s, though only around the section nearest to where the train track passes under. They are on a variety of different columns and brackets. This first Sapphire 2 is mounted post-top on an 8m steel column.

On the opposite side of the road, two hinged, steel columns (one 6m and one 8m) are stood. The 6m one is used to duck out of the way of the overhead powerlines. This lantern runs 100W SON despite being at 6m... Oh, and they are all fitted with Zodion SS6 photocells.

A picture of the lantern mounted on the 8m hinged column, this one is mounted side entry with a curved outreach bracket.

There are more 8m columns with curved outreach brackets, though these are not hinged. Also extant are URBIS Sapphire 2s mounted on right-angled outreach brackets.

Can you spot the odd one out in the image above?

Theres an Iridium hidden amongst the mix!
