WRTL 2015 Lantern Installations
Quite a common post-top in the UK, these fixtures were made for SON lamps. They have earned the name fish bowls due to their spherical shape. They share the same base and internal-structure as the WRTL 2000, as these are part of the same series of lanterns.
Burton-upon-Trent
Some 2015 lanterns exist as casual replacements for Thorn Gamma 6s around the Burton War Memorial. I believe these run 70W SON-T.
Another example nearby:
Tamworth
Only a few known examples of the WRTL 2015 exists in Tamworth. One is located on a footpath at the end of West Street, Tamworth. It runs 50W SON and is situated on a Stanton 1405 concrete column.
It's surprising that this installation hasn't been vandalized, It's still in great shape for its age. I plan to try and save this one once it is taken down, wish me luck! The base of the bowl has collected some muck over the years, and the bowl is slightly yellowed.
The lantern also still works, as shown by this night-time image of the same lantern!
