WRTL Libra Lantern Installations

The WRTL Libra (or the WRTL 2565) could come in 24W and 36W PL-L forms, with a longer version being produced for wattages up to 80W. It was WRTL's answer to the Urbis Altra 2, and in my opinion, looks better. The canopy is made from aluminium, with it's distinctive curvy shape making it easily identifiable. It could be mounted post-top or side-entry, consequently, it was seen in a variety of applications.

Amington, Tamworth

The WRTL Libra isn't very common here in Tamworth. I've only seen a few in person and only ever photographed a couple. Located on Juniper, Tamworth is this WRTL Libra. Placed on a 6m column, a single Libra exists in a sea of Philips MI26s and Simples Aries lanterns. It is a replacement street light for a Simplex Aries which used to be mounted on a 5m column. Sometime between 2012 and 2022 the lantern was replaced. This could be due to a knock down or indeed the column expiring and needing to be replaced.

The same lantern at night.

Leyfields, Tamworth

Another WRTL Libra is extant on Marvell Court, Milton Avenue, Tamworth. It was installed in 2014 with the construction of the houses opposite.
