CU Phosco P178 Lantern Installations

The CU Phosco P178 was available with multiple lamp options. 60-200W GLS, 50-125W MBF-U, 26-55W SOX and 40W MCFA were the lamp types available. The lantern is integral geared, the lamp being mounted horizontally inside. This horizontal lamp was responsible for the lantern's wide-appearance. Consequently, it was (and arguably still is) one of the most recognizable post-tops to exist.

Two Gates, Tamworth

This CU Phosco P178 is the only one known to me in Tamworth. It doesn't work. This one is located on a side street, yet clearly visible to Tamworth Road, Two Gates. As it is not working I am unsure of what lamp type this may have run. It's mounted on a 5m Stanton concrete column.

The bowl is not on properly, which may be the reason for the lantern's untimely demise.
