MY COLLECTION: WRTL 2600 (2)

LAMP TYPE 50W SON-E
GEAR INTEGRAL
DATE OF MANUFACTURE 2003

This is the Second of my WRTL 2600s. It was found on the ground at Belgrave lakes (next to the teen shelter, across the bridge opposite the Sinitta Marie Dance Academy car park) after its column was vandalized. It wasn't in good shape, it's bowl missing and its mounting spigot smashed off, leaving part of the fibreglass canopy broken. It was fitted with a spare 2600 bowl I had lying around.

Its old gear was faulty and at the time I did not have the resources to test what part it was (I later found it was the capacitor), so Instead I installed a Zodion ZEBC 70 Smart Electronic Ballast. It's old gear was later used in a THORN Civic 1. The wiring seen here has since been cleaned up, removing the unnecessary wires that would have joined to the photocell.

The front of the canopy shows damage from where the lantern hit the ground.

The damage extends to the inside of the canopy.

All of that energy from the lantern hitting the ground was transferred through to the post-top mounting spigot, snapping the fibreglass bolt holes.

The original photocell was also saved, and showed bending to the three pins. Despite this, it still works. The cell was bypassed, but still remains atop the lantern. It's dated to July of 2018.

The lantern was used to test two newly-acquired 70W SON-E lamps on 01/03/2024. It worked like a treat!

This lantern was given to fellow collector AgentHalogen_87 on the 11th April 2024.
