The AC Ford AC810 was an obscure side-entry lantern which could run 80W-125W MBF/U or 60W-200W GLS. This one was purchased from eBay on 5th July 2024. It arrived a few days later, where it was unboxed and assessed. The lantern had definitely earned it's retirement; the bowl was non-existent and the internal wiring had suffered at the hands of the 80W MBF/U lamp.

Engraved onto the canopy, is the FORDAC brand, which is an old name for AC Ford. A CdSi two-part detector is drilled into the canopy as well.

The clip (which holds the bowl ring on) was slightly bent, but this was an easy fix.

The remains of an AC Ford pole bracket are seized into the spigot.

Inside the lantern, the most-apparent feature is the lamp. The lamp-holder-holder is adjustable, and oddly, this one is in the 125W position, despite being 80W.

The photocell was a later-install, evident by the electrical tape and large wire connectors. One of these wire connectors is badly rusted and seized inside.

On the left, GLS lamp-positions are etched onto the canopy. Similarly, on the right, more lamp-positions are apparent. These for MBF/U lamps.
