The GEC Z9530 was the remote-geared, 35W SOX, side-entry lantern in the GEC Nightwatch series. This example is in good condition overall, featuring a polycarbonate bowl and an aluminium canopy. Later versions of the lantern supported fibreglass canopies instead.
The canopy is drilled for a Royce Thompson P42 two-part cell:
The bowl's hinge is located at the street-end of the lantern, with the clip at the spigot-end.
Without a gear, the only notable features inside the lantern are: the lamp, lamp-support, lamp-holder, photocell connection and lamp-wire-connectors.
The lamp is dated to June 2021.
