As far as 153W SOX lanterns go, the Z9554M is quite small. It's only designed to hold the lamp and any photocell detectors so no room was left for a gear. The main difference between the earlier Z9554 and the later-made Z9554M was the GRP canopy in the latter; the lantern was later sold as the WRTL MRL135. This one was gifted to me by fellow collector AgentHalogen_87. It needed some work such as the re-positioning of the lamp-holder and new wiring/cleaning but that only took about an hour. From this side-view you may notice the Z9554M looks a bit strange. This is because this bowl is not original to this lantern. The bowl is from a Z9554M but not this one. It's also missing a refractor.

From above, the lantern showcases it's narrow profile.

The bowl is held on by two metal clips on one side, and metal hinges on the other. These hinges sit inside hooks on the canopy. Due to this the bowl comes off with ease.

The column-end of the lantern is where all the action takes place. The disconnected NEMA socket is seen on the left, with the wire-clamp, wiring, identification sticker, grub screws and lamp-holder all being crammed at the very back of the lantern.

Meanwhile the street-end just hosts the lamp-support. The canopies catalogue number (ZD 4730) is located to the left.

The lantern was cleaned up and re-wired on the 10/09/2024.
