The Nano NLS-STLX-03 is a common fixture in Asia (specifically Thailand) for SON lamps. The design is licenced under countless company names. In Europe they are sold under the Smart brand name, so it's quite unusual to find one that isn't, such as this example. This one was purchased NOS from a lighting store, coming as just the casing.

They are very well-made lanterns, a neat and sturdy gear-tray, durable seal around the canopy and thick aluminium construction.

With complete freedom to convert the lantern to any lamp-type, I decided on SON-I. A Parmar HSZ57223221 ballast was fitted, along with a dormant Parmar PXV070255 ignitor, but this was not connected and simply exists as an option in case I ever want to run SON-T/E lamps in the fixture. I do sometimes have LED GLS running in this one.

In August of 2024 I decided to improve my gear-tray design, adding clip-on wire connectors for the ability to quickly reconnect or disconnect the ignitor.
