The Philips XGS201 was a lantern that could run 18W-26W SOX-E or 35W SOX (Group B roads). This one certainly shows it's age, but it is in working-order. It was mounted side-entry when in service as the post-top spigot remains undrilled. The canopy is made from lightweight GRP and the bowl from toughened polycarbonate, much like many Philips lanterns from the time-period.

The Philips logo is present on the canopy.

Along with the NEMA-socket and photocell.

The circle visible on the base of the lantern is where the post-top spigot would have been punched out.

The 26W SOX-E lamp is plainly visible through the clear bowl. All light-distribution control comes from the reflector, so the bowl has no refractors.

To open the bowl, a clip is present at the front of the lantern. Along with the lamp, this compartment is where the identification-sticker is located.

The gear is crammed into the area above the base-plate. It took a while to remove it from the lantern during cleaning.

Despite how dirty the gear was (and how long it took to clean) it tidied up quite well!

Due to the great condition of the gear, the lantern powered up without issues:
