My Collection: Revo Diadem (1)
This Revo Diadem was previously used as a bulkhead, and was purchased off eBay for the bargain price of £4 along with another Diadem. It dates back to the 1960s, and would have had a glass bowl. Rust has enveloped the lamp-holder holder and all of the screws and bolts (including the grubscrews). This lantern is due to be gifted to another collector.
The two small holes were previously used to mount the Diadem on the wall. The larger hole on the photocell area was likely used to thread the supply wire through or another mounting screw, rather than a photocell.
The glass bowl would have sat in the metal ring seen orbiting the canopy below. The hinge is broken so it does not stay up on it's own. The live and neutral wires are original to the lantern, though they've been cut as the wire connector's screws are seized.
The lamp-holder is damaged and appears to have been questionably repaired with a new spring. This may be the original spring, but it looks untarnished making this unlikely.
This lantern was given to fellow collector AgentHalogen_87 on the 11th April 2024.
