The oldest lantern in the collection so far, this incredibly rare lantern dates to roughly the 1920s, give or take a decade. Inside are Nico 084 burners. The glass is intact and original, and the lantern has suffered very little damage over it's century of existence. It was used as railway platform lighting when in service.
Due to it's age, the lantern had to be cleared of any asbestos before it could enter the collection.
Six burners would have been located under the glass. These have sadly mostly been destroyed, but two remain - and another is waiting to be glued back on.
The glass is in perfect condition, minus one small chip towards the rim.
Inside the lantern:
A ".084" along with "Nico" is etched into one of the upper parts of the burner. This is likely the burner's CAT. No.
