This is an Urbis Altra 2, obtained on the 02/01/2024. It's original location is not known but it was likely used as a temporary lantern for a short while after it's service due to the (8.23) date on the 36W PL-L lamp. It is my first fluorescent lantern, and I'm glad it was one of these!
A view with the bowl open!
The original date of manufacture (or near enough) of the lantern is 11/08/2005 as stated by it's sticker. for it's age, the IP65 rated lamp compartment was remarkably clean! That rating still stood strong then!
It came with a Zodion SS6 photocell fitted, with a Royce-Thompson socket.

The lanterns top profile: measuring approximately 27 inches long, and 8 inches wide.
The lantern uses an electronic Philips HF-P 136 PLL EII 220-240 ballast to power the lamp. We can break down the name to understand what the ballast actually is. HF-P stands for High Frequency-Performer: the name of the ballast. 136 PLL comes from the ballast being able to run 1x36W PL-L bulb. The EII label arises from the EII technology used in the ballast and, finally, the 220-240 is derived from the voltage the ballast is intended to run on.
