REVO C14407/T Lantern Installations

The REVO C14407/T was the 60W-200W tungsten, top-entry, enclosed lantern in the REVO Bell-top series. Their tiny size meant they never had an integral gear, as the lantern only had room for the lamp, refractor (if it was a version that had one), and if you were lucky, a photocell unit. This version -being tungsten- did not need a gear.

Burntwood

A privately-owned installation featuring a C14407/T on a cast-iron column was spotted along Ogley Hay Road in mid-2024. The lantern is situated on a column that would have supported a gas lantern previously. There is a chance this installation was rescued from the very-road it sits beside.

If the lantern, bracket and column were saved together, the lantern would have originally run a tungsten lamp (due to the lack of a base-door for a gear to be fitted).

The owner has done a good job of restoring and keeping this installation in impeccable condition.

Tamworth

In early 2024, an example was spotted along the canal running through Amington. This tungsten example is privately owned, although this probably was a street light from around the area before the concretes were installed.

A cable-tie is seen keeping this one closed.

Well this was a surprize! I was out photographing lanterns around the Fazeley area when I stumble across a privately owned installation of a REVO C14407/T (bell-top) lantern. It looks to be on an original

REVO cast-iron column.
