The CU Phosco P111 is an iconic post-top heritage lantern, having been used in various areas throughout the UK such as heritage town centres. They are sold today in LED form, but previously they could run SON lamps such as this example. This lantern was sold to me as spares on eBay, with no gear and a damaged bowl. It previously was a 100W SON lantern, but while I waited for spares, it used a 6W orange LED lamp. It was later changed to 70W SON. The plan is to make or find an opal bowl for it.

The lantern can be opened by unscrewing the acorn on the top of the canopy.

The top canopy and bowl then lift off to provide access to the lantern's internals

An electronic SON70 ballast made by Zodion was installed in the lantern's base using two metal brackets.

The "Phosco" name can be seen struck on to the base of the lantern, along with an "Across Road" for mounting purposes.

The mounting spigot has three short grubscrews to secure the lantern to a column. This is much like my other post-top fixture, the Gamma 6.

The lantern was wired up and powered on for it's first time running 70W SON.
